Abstract

University system as a complex organization could have variety approaches to its management. Differentiating professionalism with managerialism is an important theoretical subject in university management. Managerialism in university system with such doctrines as market - like behaviors, rationality, economical performance, globalization and institutional competition supply new practical mechanisms to solve higher educational problems. Institutional learning, good governance and leadership are three strategic contingents that if to be considered in the process of changing university management model and design of higher educational strategy will result efficient managerialist models.
